Walt Disney said it plans to cut 7,000 jobs and slash
$5.5 billion in costs as part of a major corporate reorganization that gives more power to the company’s content executives and puts a greater emphasis on sports media at the company. Robert Iger announced the news in his first earnings call since returning as chief executive.
